It brings you to a sea of roses reborn from the desert of discarded textiles, the Sand Skirt is a unique and luxury garment, wearable in all seasons, on all occasions.
For dyeing the Sand Skirt, Marta @warm_and_wild reused tea bags to apply the technique called scrunch dyeing that creates this uneven and unique pattern. Using food waste is one of the marvelous possibilities that natural dyeing brings. It is incredible to think that used tea bags can have such a strong impact on a fabric, completely changing it to give it a second life.
From its side, Dahlia @dahliarodriguezatelier, extremely inspired by the touch and tonalities of the fabric, decided to apply a pattern adapted to the fabric, and not adapt the fabric to a pattern with the aim of using the whole fabric and highlight the magic touch of the sand tonality. For this reason, in order to adapt the fabric to medium size, Dahlia decided to pleat the fabric in the front and the back in order to give movement and shape the skirt.
At the level of sourcing, for @empty.wardrobe the love towards sustainability and protecting nature, converting what is considered as waste into something beautiful, useful, it has united us.
At the level of building a strategy for our future existence, we realized how important it is to have a team. Because bringing together people with diverse skills, coming from different countries, could generate huge conflicts.
Indeed, through these challenges, innovative solutions were born, bold decisions were made and critical situations have been overcome.
